CT Paranasal Sinuses

Technique:

Fine slice non-contrast helical CT images were obtained through the paranasal sinuses. Bone and soft tissue windows were reconstructed.

Comparison:

Findings:

The paranasal sinuses are clear, with no mucoperiosteal thickening, mucous retention cysts or air-fluid levels.

The osteomeatal complexes have a normal appearance and no abnormal air cells are identified.

The nasal septum is midline with no spur.

The nasal conchae are normal with smooth mucosa and no aeration.

The orbits have a normal appearance, as does the nasopharynx and visualised oropharynx.

No bony abnormality is seen. The alveolar rim of the maxilla is normal.

No soft tissue abnormality is seen.

Conclusion:

Normal CT paranasal sinuses.
